Just curious, I like heavy metal stuff like Slipknot and Mudvayne...

I'm fairly sure I'll be the only one to say this, but none. Music is generally annoying and certainly never worth going out of my way to listen to.

I don't know what I listen to, but I definitely know what I don't listen to. They are namely country, jazz, blues, americana, opera/vocal and oldies. (I notice that none of them are listed here.)

whiny indie rock.
and anti-flag.
and rites of spring.
and babes in toyland.
and ministry.
and annoyingly peppy ska!
and miles davis!
and cypress hill!
which can hardly be called alternative, because alternative = mainstream, if you catch my drift. so I will not attempt categorization here.

I listen to pretty well everything exept country, which i despise. I also dislike music like backstreet boys and poppish techno stuff. I prefer punk. not pop punk like ataris but real punk. I also like less mainstream alt. jazz is good too. do any of you play any instruments?

Mostly Heavy Metal but I listen to a various range of music such as rock, classical, rap, alternative, SKA, and some country. I don't listen to techno though. I feel it is more like background music for a party.

Classic Rock. Jimi Hendrix was the greater guitarist in the world and it remains that way despite his death some thirty years ago. Rolling Stones kick ---, and simply no band meets up with them or Hendrix. All new bands suck.
Gayowulf

I agree, Giancarlo. Hendrix is awsome, and most new bands these days arent that great as far as style and imagination go. Hendrix is unrivaled on the guitar.

No one matches him, you should listen to his Star Spangled Banner song, not even the Rolling Stones could reproduce that.

He didn't die from drug overdose, he died from choking on his own vomit from the flu. That is from police report when his death was examined. Something that movie probably made the mistake of.

yeah finally something i can agree with giancarlo on. be sure to check out hendrix's "blues" cd, great stuff. but so is just about everything he has released. and the 12 minute live version of Machine Gun from the Band of Gypsies album is another great highlight.

that movie made a mistake of his whole life. the actor they had was really really bad at fking playing the guitar, and look and sounded nothing like the real hendrix. they also showed footage of a 70s moonwalk even though the scene was set in the 60s. It was a terrible show that made me mad.
Pink Floyd is another good old band, as is chilliwack (used to be the collectors)
