Have you heard anything about freedesktops.com

Eeeeeewwww. They make you sign a 36 month contract saying that you'll try to use your computer at least 12 hours a month, but that if you consistently fail to meet the 12-hour requirement, they'll ask for their computer back at your shipping expense. They also say about HALF your hard drive is reserved for ads, although I find it hard to believe the ads could take up that much space.

Take my advice, save up some money and go get a sub-$1000 PC at Best Buy or something, I did and I just upgraded it with additional parts, like a CD-RW drive.

I know i have a brand new pc with a 15 gb hd (i am getting another) a full tower case, 8x4x32 cd-rw, 52x cd, floppy, 500 mhz upgradable to 650, 8 mb video (upgraded soon), and all the goodies.

Well i was just going to use it as a terminal on my network or as a proxy server.
