it seems as if they only have 2 banners - one links to their website, and one to a strange horse-betting site.

Hey Vicky, I do apologise for not responding to this sooner, but I had not yet tested this program, or seen seen any feedback from current members at the time that you first posted your query.

In any case, the company appears to be a reseller for other ad nets (when I tested the system, an Advertising.com 468x60 banner and 120x60 button were all that seemed to be supported by the system), which suggests two things. The first being that you'd be better off working directly with Advertising.com, and the second being that it will be quite a challenge for CompactBanner to maintain their promised pay rate of $0.20-$0.50CPM.

In addition, the company states that you must maintain an "acceptable click-through ratio", but never state what this is, suggesting that they may reserve the right to terminate accounts that they, at their discretion, do not believe are performing at a high enough level.

The only other information that I've seen regarding the firm is a complaint posted at Geek/Talk by a member who has seen little to no revenue as a result of achieving a poor CTR:

While I'm not suggesting that this is not a legitimate operation, there are certainly better (and less obtrusive) options available to small-medium publishers.
