You can sign up with this company and get Unlimited web space and 50 gig bandwith per/m for all accounts and its only $30 a month??? Whats the catch?? If there aint not catch im bout to get it 2 host just one of my sites. Do they allow mp3's??

I think it is ?5.99+17.5% of tax= ?2.30

It is roughly $60USD. 50GB of bandwidth for US$60 is a good deal. But there are many other factors you might need to consider before sign up.

Smokebox, we have been associated with Donhost for almost a year. After moving to our own servers we still maintained our relationship because their product is terrific. There's nothing else to match it, that we have ever seen.

Yes but don't get carried away. Paypal isn't a very good idea though. Get a bank account and use paysystems.

It sounds easy, but is not...

It is 439 pounds per year = 600+ USD per year...

and when your clients use too much bandwidth.. 5GB+ / month, they will tell u that he is using too much system resource, etc.. and they will delete the account immidiately. They don't even give u time to explain the problem with your client.

and they don't allow mp3, adult + warez sites.

I had a client storing mp3 files and his account got delete a few days after.

I think many people don't realize what is invovled in hosting. Basically, you need

Be able to help, support, guide, etc. your clients
Be able to lose sleep supporting your clients
Have thick skin for when the servers go down at 3 am and everyone calls you!
Have a billing, support system set up ..etc

It is extremely time consuming and not an easy job.

Unless of course you own Nuke.to. They don't provide any support whatsoever.

Make sure you dont go over 50GB. I think they charge you 15 pounds(US$21) per GB after the first 50GB.

Ok today is my birthday and I got enuff to pay for my first 3 month for this re-seller program. Im going to offer hosting to only sites that are detroitrap related so im gonna prob have a really small customer base (most being my friends) so i wont have 2 worry to much about goin over 50 bandwith gigs. I dont really care bout making too much money i just wanna break even. I think this would be fun to do.

Hmm does donhost allow mp3s if the site belongs to the artist???

MP3 legality issue again?

If the site owner or the person who put the music up has the license to redistribute the music (of course he/she does if it's his/her music), then that's fine. But donhost...i dunno.

Bruce

Everyone that i give accoutn 2 are probally gonna be peeps i kno. im prob goin to charge only 7buck a month or 1 time charge of $60. Do you think if i get like 15-30 accounts i can run this without being in debt.

Bruce

Donhost charges $50/month. So if you had 15 people each paying ~$4/month then you would break even. Just make sure you don't use more than the 50 gigs of bandwidth or you will be hurting.
