Hi,
I have a shopping cart system and secure server all set up. What would be the best (and least expensive) way to just process credit cards, without all of the frills—secure server, online cart, etc. Is a merchant account nessasary for this? Is there a way that I can get around it?
regards,
Chicken

I could be wrong, but I *thought* paypal and/or revecom.com and others similar offer some sort of gateway that you can use instead of a using a full merch. account... you'd have to ask them though. As I said, I might be wrong in this...

So do have ure secure server setup? You can get a SSL cert at $125/year from THAWE. and a real merchant account for US r around $299 setup.
If you want cheaper way, try Revecom.

PayPal does offer credit card processing and we do have a shopping cart available. Information can be viewed on our web site about these issues (fees, etc.)
Please feel free to ask me any questions about our service.

Are you referring to recurring billing? We recently launched a subscription service that could help in this. I am adding the link as an FYI...
