hey guys,

I have been reading your ad revenues forum for about a week now, and I decided to ask my questoin.

Why must I give my SSN to all the ad companies? I really don't feel comfortable giving it out to companies, not to mention a lot of the forms you fill out aren't even on SSL (secure)

My site got about 200 hits today, and I am expecting that to grow, I have searched around for a good ad revenues company, but most of the ones I am interested in make me give my SSN. I guess this is the only way, if I want to make some cash....right?

i should have searched for SSN...............................anway, my spaceports banner program doesn't ask for my SSN, so i wonder how they get away with it..........

that would probably be because canadian companies don't have to pay US taxes...

spaceports is owned by tera-byte, both based in canada.

you need to be suspicious of any US-based company that doesn't ask for a SSN. you're asking for trouble.

SSN is used for taxes.

And dkAds' had this same issue come up, since then we have provided a secure online form.
