Nope... it was created by M$ and therefore works only in IE.

You could just replace your floating frame with a regular frameset or just use tables.

Um, why don't you just download and install Netscape and Opera, so you can tell for yourself?

Maybe he's on dialup and doesn't want to waste the time?

Or maybe he only has a 4 gig harddrive like me and doesn't want to waste the space.

Sorry Phroz, but Netscape 6.1 fully supports iFrames. Well, "fully" is the wrong word, there is at least one bug: you can't use a percentage when specifying height, you've got to give it in pixels. Change "height=100%" to "height=150" and you'll be fine, Crj.

Netscape 4.x didn't support iFrames. You can replicate them using iLayers and some JavaScript, though.

i'll just use text boxes like suggested in earlier posts, thanks

I had noted down that it should work from version 6.0B1Actually, iFrames worked in the short-lived 5.0 version as well.

Ok, so I made a mistake then. The only thing I based my statement on was crj's site. heh.

When did 5.0 come out? I thought they skipped it?

When did 5.0 come out? Before 6.0 and after 4.7. It was available for "testing" from netscape.com for a couple of weeks, then dropped and never spoken of again.

Come to think of it, I probably still have a copy somewhere, I know I downloaded it. I'd have to dig it up. When it was first made available for download there was an article about it and its use of the "revolutionary Gecko engine" in PC Magazine (I think those were the words it used). It was very, very, very primitive.

Last follow-up, I swear :D

It was released on Tuesday, March 31st, 1998. I think it was first made public at the XML '98 conference where it made a big splash and Gecko got a lot of wows for its XML support. But alas, due to delays Microsoft had time to release IE 5.0 and Netscape lost the market. RIP Netscape 5.0 :(
