I tested these in Win98 SE

To create a Control Panel folder:
Create a new folder anywhere and name it:
ControlPanel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}

For the Recycle Bin:
RecycleBin.{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}

A shortcut for Shut Down:
Create new shortcut, type in:
rundll.exe user.exe,exitwindows
*WARNING Activating this shortcut causes your computer to SHUT DOWN instantly and without warning!! ('cause it's the shut down command, duh. I was testing it while doing lots of other things at once, and then the computer just shutted down. I was sooooooo pissed!! :mad:)

Shortcut for Restart:
rundll.exe user.exe,exitwindowsexec

You can change the name and infobox of your Recycle Bin!
regedit, goto HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT, open CLSID, find a folder that starts with 645FF04..... click on that folder, and do your stuff!

You know how you have to scroll up and down to find folders and shortcuts in Program Files when you have too many? Well, you can change it to be displayed Win95-like.
regedit -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Software -> Microsoft -> Windows -> Current Version -> explorer -> Advanced
In the window to the right, right click and select the second option and name it StartMenuScrollPrograms. Edit it and type in the value False. Click OK and close regedit. BOOM! :D

How to hide the controls in Control Panel.
Open Control.ini from C:\Windows . Under the line [don't load] (should be on the first line) you can either add or delete the following commands as you wish:
password.cpl=no
joystick.cpl=no
midimap.drv=no
sticpl.cpl=no
powerefg.cpl=no
netcpl.cpl=no
inetcpl.cpl=no
modem.cpl=no
main.cpl=no
mmsys.cpl=no
desk.cpl=no
appwiz.cpl=no
access.cpl=no
telephon.cpl=no
themes.cpl=no
timedate.cpl=no
sysdm.cpl=no

Go back in time!
Restart in MS-DOS mode. Go to C:\WINDOWS and type in Scanreg/restore. Press enter. Go to Microsoft Registry Checker and you should see a 5 day history of Windows, pick one and restore!
UNTESTED, USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Find out who's behind the Microsoft Team! (you decide what to do with those names... hehe)
In Windows Explorer, go to Windows -> Application Data -> Microsoft -> Welcome . Select weldata and create a shortcut. Select the [/b]weldata shortcut[/b] and view Properties. Replace "C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\WELCOME\WELDATA.EXE" with "C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\WELCOME\WELDATA.EXE" You_are_a_real_rascal Select Minimize in the drop down box, and click OK. RUN THE SHORTCUT!! :)

NON-WINDOZE (USELESS) TRICKS
-------------------------------------------

For people with Norton AntiVirus:
Open Norton AntiVirus, select About Norton AntiVirus. Hold down [Shift] [Ctrl] [Alt] [n] [a] [v] at the same time. You should see a photo of the Norton AntiVirus team, differing with different versions.
UNTESTED cause I don't have Norton AntiVirus

There are more tricks, but I either don't have the software or I have a different version that doesn't work.

I found out this one:
Open PowerPoint 2000, select about powerpoint, click on the image at the top left corner. You'll see the PowerPoint Team names.
