Wow!! I had heard so many things that it took like 6 weeks to review sites and it was really hard to get in....guess I got really lucky since I suggested like Sunday night and now its Thursday and I get an e-mail saying that I'll be listed in their next update. So, look for me under NBA News and Media.

So your site is there I see.

Has anyone else noticed that the link colors at Yahoo! now are pink? It's kinda scaring me...

Yeah, I saw the pink....it looks kinda silly.

Anybody know how many more hits I can expect? I get about 200 uniques a day right now and it's been steadily rising and now with the Yahoo thing....

All I see is blue =/

LastActionHero
August 30th, 2001, 01:21
all blue here...

Maybe those scumware like toptext or surf+ or some software like that are changing your links? BEWARE!

Coolin

Everyone sees pink links only on Yahoo! and nowhere else?
I don't think that's what Toptext would do.
If they screw up one site, they would screw them all.

Mouseovers are pink within the directory, not on the main page though.

All the sites I ever put in yahoo were in the first day. I just call their offices and they'll setup the link right then and there on the phone with you. Phone bill is a small price to pay when it helps you get 1,000's of hits. Parents take care of the bill anyway :D.

Nope. I read about this on a tip site and didn't believe it. I called the place and after a few busy signals I talked to a guy, he looked at the site and added it. Last time I tried was a few months ago.

hpwonline.net isn't even registered :p I'm not in a hurry, just asking for the phone number so that when I require it later, I have it by my side. IMHO yahoo greatly contributes to traffic because all those newbies visit yahoo the first thing they log on. I remember I used to when I was a newbie. Yahoo was like God! "OMG I'm on the net, I'm on Yahoo" :)

If you can get through the busy signals and talk to a represenative and ask if they will do it (some wont), and be polite about it.

Keith, I designed a website for a law firm and they wanted to get listed in major search engines as soon as possible so while searching through submission tips I found this, what I thought at the time was a, crazy idea but hey it worked (the second time cause the first guy I got was an -------).

Also, if you put your site in the newest foreign yahoo (that is just starting to get submissions) they will index your site in the right yahoo/category and send you an email telling you that you used the wrong country's yahoo but you really just tricked them into indexing you faster :devious2: .

Another thing, yahoo favors people with @yahoo.com emails, or at least that's what I hear :p.

LastActionHero

well it still doesn't show up in the whois.

Yup hpwonline.net was a free one without any adframes or any of that NameZero-ish sh!t. A REAL free domain name. To bad a lot of other people were not as lucky as me.... TO BAD ;)!

I'm luckier. I waited 2 days 4 a reply and another 2 days my site was up.
