Best discussion board

What is the best (preferably FREE) discussion board in terms of user/admin use? (CGI/Perl/PHP?)

ubb is fat and a huge bandwidth hog, and it is not free...

Nope. You don't got me because that was an opinion, and besides I always thought robboard SUCKED. Also, WWWBoard is really customizable and there's so many addons and fixes for WWWBoard, and that's exactly why I picked it.

But I'll look into that millsies place and check it out.

I really like Phorum, but it is kinda a pain to set up but the only other php/mysql board that I have used is Tforum but I think that script is not very good.

yes, i did correct you. what can you do with wwwboard? change the header and footer? oooooooo, wow... how highly customizable. sheesh

i agree, robboard sucks, but the *modified* robboard kicks the hell out of wwwboard.

vBulletin is the best I've seen, but it costs a bit if you want to have it with the members system and all bells and whistles. The lite version is free tho.

If you want a completely free script, Phorum does allright, and in the newer versions it's a little bit easier to setup.

I would really haveto say for CGI ... IKONBOARD. IT's a great board easy to install, easy on the server, awesome community. Also the new version will just be amazing.

For PHP ... I would have to say PHORUM or phpBB ... I don't use php boards, never really have interested me much.

But Ikonboard is one of the best forums I have seen, I am using it @ my site http://www.hardcoreheadz.com ... both for a forum and a audio database.
