The heat is because of the speed. AMD is so much damn faster than Intel, and thusly puts out more heat. Get a good cooling system for prevention of that.

lol. thats a good way of looking at it Giancarlo

What good is speed, though, If your chip fries in the event of a cooling failure?

Then get a cooling system that won't fail. My system shuts off once the CPU fan or even the fans inside stop. A fail-safe system. If that fail-safe system fails I will hear it and the software I have will shut the machine down.

I heard that AMD had taken response to the HOT thing. www.tomshardware.com can tell you more. Somewhere in October.

it runs hotter i believe because of the fsb is soo much faster. that is the main thing. and amd processors do run better performance than intel on most all of their comporable processors

Try explaining that to some of my friends... they love Intel. When they use my 1.4 Thunderbird Computer they notice quite a bit of speed difference being much faster, and they still said Intel was faster. Go figure.

Yeah AMD procs are much hotter than intels, it could also explain why they run faster.
