I think that FreeWebspace should give users something depending on the number of referrals they have. Simply giving them a little number in their profile won't do it. I think that if you allow them larger avatars or offer something as a reward for more referrals, there will be many many more users on these boards (not that there's not enough already).

Why do you need a reward?
Surely if you like this community and you get a friend to join, that is reward enough?
I can imagine if there was a reward system in place that people would just abuse it to get their 'rewards'![]()
How could you abuse the referral system?![]()

But I won't post them here, too many people abuse affiliate programs and the like. So I am confident if a reward system was in place, that it too would be abused.
(Not by everyone, but a select few)
It would be a minor reward system. Something like the ability to use more vB code or something like that.
Of course, you COULD register tons of accounts and refer yourself. But would anybody be crazy enough to do that just for a bunch of extra little goodies?

I think peo should delete all the 0/1 post coint posters/inactive ppl first, I was looking and saw quite alot
Why? They are still members, they use the forums to get information, why should they have to rejoin when they need to ask a question?
I saw one recently who was a member since May or something and made his/her first post.
Some can get answers to questions with the search feature, they then don't need to waste space with a post.
And on another BB someone recently posted his second since 1999!

hmmmm they take up alot of space (since there are alot) and why need to register to get information? just read the post, not like they're posting or anything
In the event that they DO want to post, they are then free to, since they are a registered member!
They could always remain as a guest and then register if they really want to post.Originally posted by Jan
