Hm... I had this exact same thing yesterday... interesting...
I can't help you though.![]()
Today when I booted up my computer it came up with a blue screen (similar to the win98 scandisk) and it said my registry was corrupted and it would restore it from a backup. So I clicked OK and everything worked fine. I just booted up my computer again and it got into windows and came up with an alert saying that something is wrong with the registry, click ok to reset and restore. So I reset and then it restored my registry in that blue screen again. So it had to restore it twice in a day, what could be causing this? And how do I prevent it from happening?

If you are using Win98 there is a program that you could use to back up a the registry. I do it everyday, so if it get corrupted, I have a recent copy.
1) Go to "Start"
2) Click on "Run"
3) Type "SCANREGW"
Let the progam scan and click "yes" when prompted to backup the registry. If it happens again, then it will restore the new copy. Let me know if you have any more problems.![]()
It backs up fine, but whenever I start the computer it comes up with the attached message. I think it only happens when I change certain controls for a game I play, as whenever the registry gets restored the keys go back to what they were originally.

Maybe you should try to uninstall the game and remove all the registry keys for it. (regedit) After that, try to reinstall it and see what happens.Hope you get it fixed.
