I'm looking for a host with these requirements:
- 5 MB webspace or more
- ftp uploading
- datatransfer limit > 3GB / month
- webhost should be reliable (they should not stop running their service within the next few months/years)
I used to be at geocities, but they're cancelling their ftp service. I tried tripod, but they have a smaller data transfer limit (1 GB per month). Geocities' limit was 3.6 GB/month measured in hourly limits of 5 MB. 5 MB per hour was already on the low side for me, so it would be better if the limit is slightly higher.
However, it takes me an eternity read the policies and find the data transfer limits of the different hosts. Anyone can help me here?
Also, I absolutely hate it to move my site to a different server. I lose all my visitors because of broken links. So I don't want to be forced to move again in a few months. I can't predict the future of course, but I think I would have better chances with a webhost that has been around relatively long, so they have proven themselves to be reliable.

Thanks for the suggestion.
But I see the data transfer limit is only 1 GB / month there.
Does anyone knows some sites with more bandwidth?

www.clawz.com I use them, but they're currently down, like the fourth time...geez it's annoying...
Well, all those servers have some disadvantages, which are a reason for me not to use them:
http://www.9cy.com/ (when they reopen sign-ups)
-> can't use it if I can't sign up
http://www.t35.com/ (reliability in question)
-> not good if the reliability is in question
http://www.host.sk/ (has been around for quite a while)
-> can't read that czechian text...
http://www.tripod.co.uk/
-> same as tripod.com (data limit of 1gig/month)
http://www.netfirms.com/
-> data transfer limit also only 1 gig /month
http://www.freewebsites.com/
-> I've been there before and their server is down too often. And besides, I can't find information about their data transfer limit.
www.clawz.com
-> I don't want a server with downtime. And also, their data transfer limit is 2 gig/month.
So, it looks like finding a reliable webhost with more than 3 GB / month data transfer is almost impossible?
I guess geocities' limit of 3.6 GB/month wasn't bad. A shame that they stopped their ftp services.
If anyone knows a site with more than 3 GB data transfer per month, please let me know!
hey, i also want to move from geocities to a different server!![]()
why aren't there more replies to this post?
such a simple question, but no useful replies...

Tripod.co.uk has no transfer limit - you're thinking of tripod.com.

T35.com had a 3 year up time, than after some legal problems, we re opened a few weeks ago, and the members sites server hasn't been down over a few minutes since then.. The main page server is having some problems, but it doesn't influence the members sites..
