Looking for gaming server recommendations

What gaming panel does everyone recommend? I have considered this market for potential growth and in researching I have found cpanel has a gaming addon. Does anyone have experience with this? I am not a gamer and have never hosted a gaming server so any recommendations would be appreciated.

If ur neither a gamer and never hosted a gaming server than i wouldnt recommend you to just jump into it and blow ur bucks on panels and stuff.Cause if you do not know which file goes where the game server doesnt work. And if ur not familiar with various command lines to start up server and manage it i doubt you might find yourself in major problems. Sometimes ever a wrong cfg file will make server fail.

Thanks for the advise. I will check out that link. I have an employee/asmin that is a gamer and he will be resopnsible for most of the work on this server. I just wanted to do a little research before I let him go crazy with a server. Thanks again for your advice.

Another thing been a gamer doesnt mean one knows how to run servers probably, i have myself run like over 8 game servers including their modding and range from wolfet,co,uo,bf2,bf1942,css,quake,vcmp,sa,mta etc. out of which have played only 3 or 4 games. Plus do you have windows box cause if your freind that is gonaa manage your server has not run linux based servers and you handing him linux box, he might end up in trouble. So is he well versed with both linux and windows game server setup?

When I did gameservers, we never bothered to use a control panel. It was pure ftp and bash scripts.

Ithink bash scripts good to check for server down or not but many games like uo and cod cannot be shutdown by the admin using rcon , so those games need a game control panel or ssh access to the user.

Yes he is one of my staff and we only use linux servers for hosting so he is very familiar with linux and ssh.

I prefer game panel. Simple to use, nice gui, and not too pricey either.

if you want a full featured panel with good support then I would use tcadmin.com I have been with them for quite awhile and they are great. The other panels out there are basically half put together and minimal support
