    New Hosting Company Ideas Needed

Alright a fellow FWS member and I have been working with x10Host.com for the longest time. Due to some recent issues with its 2nd owner (recently x10 was sold again to a much nicer man) we were planning on leaving and starting our own free hosting company. Now we have already invested money into this new host plan and the new owner of x10 wants us back. We are committed to x10 and its users so we are working with x10 again but we also have already invested money in a new host plan. So we want to do both. But we want to bring some "thing" to the new host. Something that would make it not your "average host" something to attract a certain webmaster crowd. Something to set it apart from x10Host.

    Any Suggestions?

Actually, you should limit some user action, and especially space and bandwidth.
To put some small ads on the user's page, small ads is easy to accept for users. And you may get some money (like you could user Google Adsense) here. Big ads will lose some of good users, it may broke its webpage frame.
Another way, you could give a suitable starting space and bandwidth for the users, and change it to suit for each user. Then you can get your server best-using.
To prevent high-rate user increasing, you may use invitation rule of increase. Like you may get 10 new user on your server, then they can invite 1 user per week to use that. In this way, you can check if there's error in your server when the number of user is low.
Hope your new server and new company to be well.

I shouldn't have any accounts set up anywhere. I don't have a current site that I am running privately or for a client on a free host. Do not quite know what you are talking about. But if I do have one set up for some reason I do not need it anymore.

    Now back on topic please...

    Aggie, Who are you??

Theres only a few who really work for x10Host and I know if I was Jeff, I wouldnt allow this.. I would rethink something here.. Its a simple "Conflict of Interests" and / or competition...

I no longer work for x10. And Robert this is Kyle.

And I do not need any more advice regarding this issue.

I've always thought it would be cool to have a host that could act as a Windows Media Push Server, kinda like Shoutcast, that would alow a user to broadcast an internet radio station to people.

If you had something like this perhaps you could set it up to show/broadcast an ad before beginning the media stream and then allow people to listen to a media stream from someone's Windows Media Encoder.
