from performance wise, the xeon is with no doubt better.
a xeon is sure better since it is a server chip, however if you don't use it for high resource stuff, a p4 would be enough since it should be cheaper than a xeon.
Wich would be better for games?.
The Xeon is much faster & would give better performance, remember the network must also be good otherwise whats the point in having a good server without having a good network. Marki know's what am talking about.
