    Arrow Reseller hosting? What?

Hey, what is this reseller hosting anyway?

I'm planning to put up a website that I could also provide hosting. What is the best choice? Should I choose the normal web hosting or Reseller ? What is the best plan here. Thanks.

Depending on your host, you wouldn't be able to sell hosting from a shared account. So a reseller account would be needed at least. I have reseller account for the first time, but I am not selling anything Just the host I chose didn't have a shared plan to host all my sites under one account without using a "reselling" option.

Edit: If you are planning on setting up hosting, I would suggest you do some homework, read tutorials, look at all the failures and see if that is what you really want to do with your life

Thanks I just want to put up a site, then at the same if I could offer to sell hosting too (but for few clients only w/ minimal BW). That way I can earn some money. Does a shared hosting allows us to create an account such as a subdomain for clients? Like setting the amount of space and BW for them? What kind of cpanel to use for that? Thanks.

Shared hosting does let you create subdomains. But these subdomains would not have their own control panels and would be very limited in features. For secuity reasons and to give your clients a fully featured cpanel you should get a reseller account. Also I recommens using the Cpanel control panel.

Read carefully the terms of service. Sometimes you're not allowed to resell from a shared hosting account.

Jan might have a point there. Hosting is not for everybody.

Yes if your planning on selling hosting, Id recommend going with an reseller account, there alot better for you, allow you a bit more control, without damaging anything

Nowadays, resellers are selling quite on the same price the shared hosting goes. So if you are planning for a good network of your own or selling space then you might choose reseller to go on. Most of the cpanel resellers are on the end of the WAR actually may be i should say they won. still some burdens are there, overselling is common, shouldn't be heavy

    Kind Regards

Hey! Why is it that some resellers offers about $30 per month, but also requires a fee for each account? Then would it mean that every account I create for client will cost me another $30 ? which means i have to pay $60 per month?

Shared hosting are for personal sites. Like hosting your own site, example would be a blog.

Reseller Hosting included the hosting but the control panel is set up in a way where you can divide your hosting INTO Shared Hosting Plans. Thus, you can sell shared hosting plans on your site without a problem. You can create/edit/delete new accounts and aswell as manage the accounts. The control panel that supports your reseller allows you to do most things from editing the packages quota to suspending their account.

It is a great way to start your own hosting company and a great way to learn more about the industry.

If you play your cards right, the public won't even know you're on a reseller

No, it is the overall price. If the plan cause $30 than it is $30 as long as you and your other account use in the given quote (space and b/w).

That is a slightly different type of reselling. It means that, that is how much they will charge you for reselling their services. The more you sell, the cheaper the price you pay is.
