    Linux In need of a host...again...for a local non-profit

Just as I put the finishing touches on our site, I've had two hosts go POOF! Disappear without a trace and with all of my files...at least I know now how to use the CPanel backup function. I'm really hoping there's a kind soul out there that can lend us a hand.

The web site to be hosted is for a local Cub Scout pack and sits atop a Joomla installation with several add-ins like a Gallery, Registration module, Calendar module etc. It's not huge, but it's not tiny either. We live and breath on popcorn donations, so we're a bit skinny on funds too - hence the free hosting request.

The last place I worked with gave me 1GB space and 10GB bandwidth, which was more than I needed, but it was certainly nice to have the wiggle room. If anyone can lend a hand here, please let me know. I'm more than flexible. One simple caveat, any ads that could possibly lead to a site with less than a G rating are simply out of the question...I've got some great kids and super parents that simply cannot be pointed to that kind of material.

Systematically, here's what I need to keep afloat:

    1. PHP 4.2.x or above
    2. MySQL 3.23.x or above
    3. Apache 1.13.19 or above
    4. XML and Zlib functionality
    5. CPanel
    6. Safe mode Off
    8. phpMyAdmin
    7. NetPBM 9.x or newer, ImageMagick 4.x or newer or GD 2.x or newer.

And please...please plan on hanging around for more than 2 months.

I would be honored to host your site for your cub scout pack. We have been around since November of 06 and we have no plans of going anywhere. The ad system that we utilize is google adsense so of course theres no issues there. PM so we can get you guys setup and ready to go.

I'm intrigued....but I'm unable to access http://xsishost.com/ right now. I can get to http://xsisdomains.com/ though. Curious. Even from that page, the xsishost.com link is down. You folks doing some maintenance??

Libster- Synced has been in this hosting industry quite some time and we have happy clients. Below is our base plan we offer and we should be able to support all of your features. In your case, since you have what sounds like a nice simple site, I am sure we can work something out for ads so that no obtrusive ones slip through.

You really are very kind...thank you so much! Unfortunatlely, I just don't have the spare time to be actively posting every month to keep the site online...I'd rather may a small fee for that, but only if I absolutely have to.

    Hidee Ho Campereenos!

Please close this...Jumpline came to our rescue with a couple GB space, oodles of bandwidth and....my own virtual server! YOWZA!!

It's only for a year, and I had to give a credit card # for verification but I'll take a guaranteed year right now. Things have gone kinda "south" in the free host arena...no word of a lie, I had one host fall apart the day after I got approved!!! I'm gonna start a new thread elsewhere on a perceived (or actual) scarcity of free hosting....I'd like everyone's thoughts on that.
