    CMS light on shared host?

Are there any CMS that uses light resource usage & handle massive traffic (30k uniques daily) on a shared host?

well, the hits alone depending on how many are hitting at a time, regardless of the CMS, you wont be able to use a shared.

but CMS made simple is light.

I think that irt also depends on the trafic sources and shared web hosting itself. ecause shared web hosting to shared web hosting is different.

Any examples of what you want it to do? So we can compare it to what we'd guess you need.

Honestly, I consider forums as CMS as it manages a lot of content easily.

But if your speaking of something like Wordpress, then no. Because it becomes MySQL intensive, when you have a lot of concurrent users, servers loads will rise.

What if I cache my site & installed eAccelerator? I heard caching reduces load by 50%

eAccelerator is a free open-source PHP accelerator, optimizer, and dynamic content cache. It increases the performance of PHP scripts by caching them in their compiled state, so that the overhead of compiling is almost completely eliminated. It also optimizes scripts to speed up their execution. eAccelerator typically reduces server load and increases the speed of your PHP code by 1-10 times.
i thought compressing it etc, makes it slower? since it needs to be decompiled, then sent through the PHP complier to actually load the code. i would just say get yourself a good VPS. Even if you managed to get a shared host that would host you, and a small CMS, then you would have to still upgrade to a VPS, once you get more visits.

Its not available for all scripts. Only those who want to take advantage of it. There are different levels of caching where level one will be ideal. Anything higher will reduce load but will also take longer to load.
