    Aww, it finally happened

After 3 years of dedicated computer building. I think my computer has finally died. **Currently on an old laptop. Either my motherboard or procesor has died, or even both. Not sure. But everything else works. I might even need a new power supply. I can't get bios to flash or appear on my screen.

Anyways, I'm hoping some of you can help me look on newegg or tigerdirect for some prices. I'm searching for the following specs, hopefully you can help me find some nice discounts/deals.

CPU: AMD either Dual-Core or Quad-Core
    RAM: At least DDR2 800
Motherboard: 1 PCI-Express 2.0 slot minimum, 4 RAM slots minimum

**For the motherboard, I would prefer it not be a Micro ATX, a normal ATX is what I'm looking for.

    My budget, $400-500
If possible, I'd also like a 512MB or even a 256MB graphics card by Nvidia, maybe an 8000 series.

Let me hear your suggestions, and please, provide some links. Thanks. Hoping to upgrade and get my computer running as soon as possible. Thank you in advance.

Ouch dude sorry to hear about your PC.

I'd recommend an intel CPU instead of an AMD much more efficient. You could get:

GIGABYTE GA-G31M-S2L LGA 775 Intel G31 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
    Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 Conroe 2.33GHz 4M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor

You can get those 2 above as a package, not sure how much, but they seem worth it!

    Hope that helps,

Sorry to hear that. I hope this just won't happen to me anytime soon, as I don't have money for a new computer now.

Anyway, are you going to buy a new laptop or a desktop PC? For laptosps, I recommend Toshibas.

Oh god no....Toshiba is horrible if you ever need to call them for support. For a laptop I definitely recommend Fujitsu (if you can afford one) HP and dell are good for budget too.

Okay, not to be rude here. But, I specifically asked/requested for PC PARTS! If you people are foreign, please translate this into your language to understand. I hate when people try to send me links/stuff I don't want.

    Post the following only:
    AMD Processor, at least Dual-core
AMD Motherboard, at least 1 PCI-E 2.0 slot
    RAM, at least DDR2 800

    Here's my current setup:

    AMD Athlon 64 x2 5000+ (2.6 GHz) Black Edition - Dual Core - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103194

    2 x Corsair XMS2 2GB (2x1GB Sticks) DDR2 800MHZ - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145034

    BIOSTAR TFORCE TA780G Motherboard (16GB Max RAM, AM2+/AM2 socket support) - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813138105

    XFX GeForce 8600GT (540 MHz / 1180 MHz clocks) 512MB GDDR2 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150247

With XFX, you have nothing to worry about as you can fry one of their cards overclocking it and they'll still replace it free of charge, they have a double lifetime warranty.

    Runs nicely.
    Regards,
    Patrick

Stay away from Toshiba, nothing but issues. Same with Acer. HP actually makes very solid laptops.

By posting junk I didn't want to look at...? Wow, loving the off topic-ness.

@Patrick, nice specs. I'll take a look at them.
