Looking for a versatile Hoster

I'm looking for a Host, preferably in the UK
1. use it as a svn server
2. use it to tunnel ssh

This host is to be used as a university programming server for me and a couple of other students.

You wont find this, without strong proof that it is going to be used for university only. Can't your uni provide you with it?

Stephen is right, you'd need some strong proof to prove your request for that kind of thing, it could be very vunerable for any host, free or paid.

Maybe ask your university, or rent a cheap dedicated server?
