Its wierd, when I heard MJ passed on, I did not have images of his freakish recent nature or the stories of nowadays. I immediately had the tune Thriller pop in my head then the plethora of great tunes that the Thriller album had that I used to listen too when my sister first got the album (while I was listening to Quiet Riot). Those were good days and memories that will remain for quite some time.
Regardless of what more younger people will think of him, ranging to the walking mannequin look to the child problems, people of my era will remember the great artist he was. However whacked he may have been, his talent for his type of music was unrivaled.

Not just his skin, but he also had quite a bit of plastic surgery.
