that is an ignorant statement. i have seen plenty of people that "know html" use template purely cause it is quicker to do so sometimes. and tell me, what is the difference between designing your own site template, or paying someone for a unique template? it is still unique and professional. just cause someone doesnt design their own site doesnt mean they dont know html. maybe they are a coder, and suck at design, and they still want their site to look good.

Good point. However I've seen many people chose that option because its most "affordable" if they can't pay for a design then they can't financialy support a company when the first few months cost money its true in any business.

goes along with my point that the statement of people buying templates dont know html was ignorant. on the other hand, i am of the mind that if you dont know how to design and you cant afford a unique design, then you would wait to launch a site till you can get a unique layout. just my opinion though.

From a customer point of view, I wouldn't really have an issue with a host purchasing a design rather than creating it themselves. It's not like they're oferring to DESIGN my site, and unless they're claiming to offer awesome design/code support or something, their skills don't really come into it, do they?

I wouldn't assume anything about their HTML capability just because they didn't use their own design.

Very few host websites do anything different with their layouts anyway - they usually follow a certain style.
