Proxy sites are a liability risk to the host. Unless properly secured for private use only, they get found and abused by less than savory people for various illegal deeds that can get a host put out of business if not DDoS'd to oblivion.

And they don't make any money for the host either, so you can forget about putting ads on it. It won't cover a fraction of the bandwidth it will eat.
