i have an 8gb hd in 2 4gb partitons....
i'm running out of space on my 'games' partition.. and i amalso running WinXp Pro.. so i can compress folders... does anyone knnow if counter-strike, half-life and opposing force can run in a compressed folder? those 3 games alone take up more than a quarter of myentire hard drive.....

Almost all new games cannot be compressed (and operate) or at least suffer in performance somewhat.

See Below
why dont you use partition magic or something and transfer some space back over to your main partition - or mabey install on your other partition

max_payne, you have posted a lot of off topic comments today all over the place. Please read the sticky at the top of the this forum, aptly titled I think!

well actually my games partition has about 200mb more than my system/essential program parition. Altogether I have about 3gb left.. but i like to have at least 1gb left on partitions, because i frequently just download too many things and i have to spend a day clearing it up...
[edit]
and i don't have partition magic, and from what i heard you have to pay, which i do not want to do
the only reason i want to know if there is a way to run half life and those mods is because I just got 2 new games, and i'm tired of installing on minimum mode....
