9cy.com Now a 0catch partner!

This totally sucks. I went to 9cy.com to see if i could login to my account yet and now they are a 0Catch partner?!

I'D RATHER SEE 9CY DEAD THAN BECOME ANOTHER 0CATCH!!! DON'T YOU PEOPLE REALIZE 0CATCH TOTALLY SUCKS --- WITH THEIR STUPID 20 MB DAILY TRANSFER LIMIT? SURE, YOU GET 100 MB SPACE THERE, BUT WHAT'S THE POINT IF NOBODY CAN SEE YOUR SITE!!?

I know. I thought 9cy was the best free host out there, and they were until now. I guess they figure people should go to the paid server, but they got me way to p*ssed off to have anything to do with 9cy from now on.

Yeah, even T35 seems better than 9cy now. T35 may be having its problems, but they don't solve them by pulling a gay stunt like 9cy is doing - 9cy is taking the coward's way out.

So realy what your saying is I should delete all the pages and just have a 404 page for advertising. Somehow I think users would be more annoyed at that. Only reason you are against 0catch is because of there bandwidth limit. No other reason. Well I would have to point out that out of the 9000 users very few go over that limit. That still leaves alot of happy customers.

Taking the cowards way out I have been self funding that server for the past 5 months on top of which I and other admins have spent countless hours dealing with abuse.

One of the main reasons for doing this is because of people's persistance in complaining about advertising only way to keep that service was advertising it broke even.

Basicly you call me a sellout but If I was to email all my users I can safely say 99% of them want to keep there website online.

As for accessing your account you should still be seeing the 9cy.com normal page with normal login the 0catch partnership hasn't started yet we just have some glitchs in dns

9cy isn't taking the cowards way out.
Its just the safe way, which is far better than him just shutting down the service completely.
Alot more people would be upset if 9cy.com went offline instead of just switching over to 0Catch.
This is very off topic but i'd just like to say I hate it when people use the term "gay" in a bad context.

Big deal! Crosswinds.net has suffered this at least three times as long, and as much as they suck because of it, they still haven't shut down or become a 0catch sellout; no, instead, they continue to stand their ground and not back down! Running a (somewhat) great free host CAN be possible without co-branding.

Yeah, well, I'm still 100% against co-brands! If I wanted to use 0catch, I would have signed up for an account directly from the original 0catch.com . I know the only reason that you won't delete members' sites is because they'll lose their URL's, but many of us who use free hosting (including me) are smart enough to use free URL redirection as well in the event that this happens. If the user does not, it's his or her fault for being stupid and actually trusting that he or she will be able to stick with the same free host for the life of his or her site (yeah, the idea of this happening is laughable).

As for the bandwidth, although it seems somewhat believable that my site could stay within the limits, I don't want to take that chance - another good South Park site, currently located at http://sp24-7.harbucks.com/ , once tried 0catch, and many visitors to his site complained about the site being down for bandwidth exceeded, so who knows if that will happen to my site as well!?

True, cobranding does get annoying.
I find it pointless, especially with 0Catch.
They seem to be preying upon dying hosts such as Virtue and Envy. As soon as those hosts struggled 0catch came along and sucked them in

But at least 9cy is good enough to continue with its services.

Yes, that's why one should ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS use free URL forwarding if one is using free webhosting. That way, in case one's free host pulls a stunt like this, one can just change the URL the promoted URL points to, and it will be seamless to one's site's visitors. The main rule on the internet is: DON'T TRUST ANYBODY!!!
