Well, I am releasing the 3rd edition of our friendly community Host FAQ. I have made the changes that have been requested. If I have missed anybody or if I have made any mistakes, please do not hesitate to reply to this thread to notify me. Thanks for your support!

Notice that I've used real user requests as quotes for each section. If you do not wish your post to be shown (or your name to be shown), please send me a PM.

Also, one last thing. Please look under the section for PHP/CGI hosts section. I could not find a real request to quote as of yet. If any of you could find a request for me, I'd appreciate it very much. Thanks!

Welcome to the Host F.A.Q.! If you are a user looking for a host, take a look at the descriptions below, and see if they match any of your requirements. If so, use the suggested hosts provided. Please start a new thread only if you cannot find any suitable one before (please also mention that you have looked in the Host FAQ). Yeah, that's probably something good to add.

Hmm...but the thing is, gaming sites could use regular hosts, yet regular sites can't use gaming hosts.

Oh well, let me hear some more opinions, and then I'll decide.

Heh, that may be true, but you'd be surprised to see how many of the exact same requests we get. My Host FAQ is more of a generalization. I may say 15 MB, but anything from 5 MB to 100 MB is included.

If people actually bothered reading the Host FAQ, everything would be fine. It doesn't matter how many of the "Don't mention anything from the host FAQ" because the moderators support us doing that.

I think users who post something from the Host FAQ should have their post deleted instead of having us repeat the same thing over and over again.

Anyway, this has absolutely nothing to do with the new edition of the FAQ.

In the "lots of space" category, why didn't you suggest T35? Also, you should change 9cy to 0catch, as they're the host powering 9cy, so why shouldn't the user just take advantage of a 0catch account himself rather than through 9cy?

I'm not convinced by T35's constant downtime and unreliability. They have to prove a bit more, and then I'll add them. But I'll think about it. Thanks!

As for 9cy vs. 0Catch, I think 9cy's advertisements are a tiny bit less annoying, and 9cy's support was always better IMO.

Yeah, but if 9cy is 0catch, wouldn't 9cy's advertisements now be the same as 0catch's? Also, wouldn't 9cy's support be the same as 0catch's support? Face the facts, all co-brands of the same original company are exactly the same as the original company. 9cy was once good, but now they're no better than 0catch because they ARE 0catch.

Actually, you're wrong. 9cy has half the advertisements, and they chose to put a few 9cy.net banners. It's not bad at all. And 9cy's support forums consists of people more experienced with web hosting/designing, and is clearly more informed than those of 0Catch. They are not the same.

Should I remove host.sk? Have they allowed signups again? If not, does the future look bright (in other words, will they allow signups soon)?
