I'd rather see it on a Unix system instead of Win. With PHP and Mysql.

Space is fine. More cant hurt.

Maybe list the Bandwidth Limit also.

We can provide Unix hosting also. We will give the option for users to choose between unix and windows 2000 servers.

there are no current restrictions on bandwidth.

We won't be offering MySQL at the moment but may do in the future.

On the windows servers we have full support for ODBC, FoxPro, DSNLess etc.

    B/W

Ok, Your only allowed xx bandwidth.

How much you think we should offer?

Also FTP can be accomodated, browser FTP is already installed.

    Some file types are banned.

Should FTP access be a paid service e.g 50c or 50p a month as in fifty pence. or should it be free.

We can only setup FTP manually not automatic.

Why? So that you can worry about your site going down for bandwidth (there's nothing more annoying than this)? If he should limit transfer, he should make the limit so high that nobody can reach it (ie, like 9cy's former 1000 gb transfer).

This is what I would offer at least:

    30 MB space
    5 GB transfer/month
    Perl
    CGI-bin
    PHP
    MySQL
    ASP
    any db for ASP
    FTP
Browser Upload (it really doesn't matter which kind)
    SSI
    XML
(Don't offer the forum nor guestbook, if it is a HomeFree-style WWWBoard)

    Question 1 month?

    At the signup page:

    http://www.finger.win-hosting.co.uk/...?GroupSelect=1

I see it says "1 month" for the features like ASP, PHP, etc. Does that mean we only get those features for one month only and we have to pay after one month?

    Unlimited usually means "scam"
In an everlasting search for low pings.

No, it doesn't! That's just a stereotype! Why do you think sites like Crosswinds.net, Freewebsites.com, and T35.com have been offering this for years then (Crosswinds is even currently doing this at a loss, and they've even done it for a while without forced advertisements on their members' pages)? It's not a scam, they're just trying to be "nice guys" of the internet and they truly believe the internet should be free for the public.

Yes, there are some that can offer that. Although the majority of the companies that do offer unlimited end up in the gutter.

And look at Crosswinds, freewebsites, t35, dreamwater, and alot more have ----ty hosting. Sure they may offer "unlimited" transfer but the quality is ----.
