Hi! I have this folder C:\Windows\Prefetch.



Inside have files such as rundll etc. They are all of .pf extension.



Do people on XP home have this?


Is it bad bad spyware I must kill?

I have absolutely no idea what they are, but my guess is that they are related to the indexing service?

It saves caches of frequently used programs, start-up files, etc. so they'll load faster.

No, it's part of windows.

No, it's a feature of WinXP which, as I said before, saves a cache of your frequently used files so your programs will open up more quickly.

However, you are free to delete the programs within to save up some space.
