Host Ultra - How Come I never saw this host before!!!

Ftp
Unlimited space
Unlimited bandwidth
1 exit ad - 10 seconds after the visitor leaves your site!
Too many to list but those features are unmatched!

I don't understand why everyone doesnt go with them???
Am I missing something?

their pop-up ads are a big problem. but nothing is free so u cant complain.

Ooo i hate their pop up ads.. especially when working, but you are right, it isnt free. But i think there is a problem with it, because its trying to download something from the popups, a 404 document. And also when i was editing an HTML file, after a certain code it changed the whole page! What i wanted to edit wasnt in the edit space anymore, it was on the page. And about FTP, yeah they have it, but you can also use your own, it tells you the stuff you need beside the multiple uploading part. Its a good site, and good space too!

that is in the terms of service for hostultra.com its in the section limitations..... personally all my files are more then 1 mb.....so even though this is "unlimited" you really cant do much with it.....

if all your files are over 1 mb then it must be warez or mp3s. no html page or image is gonna be over 1 mb. c'mon be practical here

Ive noticed some file name restrictions that I feel people should know about. Any file with !@#$%^&*(){[]} will not be uploaded.
Its kinda weird to name a file with those - but I have had 5 or so files that cannot be uploaded

yea i understand your point and that is true, but come on now, if its only for images and html pages then what is the point of "unlimited" space? for that i could just sign up at angelfire or tripod or any of those other sites that offer little amounts of space...... but if im looking for "unlimited" space then that must mean i have big files i need space for.....and i think that is why others want more space to.....and in my opinion i think it is very stupid that host ultra has a 1mb file size limit......that is the only reason why it is "unlimited"......because with images and html files hundreds of files wont take up that much space.....

That's because by "unlimited" space, they really mean "unmetered" space, which simply means, "unmonitored." It does not mean they have an infinite supply of hard drives. Therefore, they have to limit the other stuff one can do in order to prevent space running out faster than they can afford new drives, hence the 1 mb file size limit. If you want to experience what the free hosting will feel like if they truly set no limits on webspace, go to http://www.crosswinds.net/ -- they're very very very very very slow, but that's what happens when a free host tries to give away too much.

However, I think what this person forgot to mention is that they don't allow other file TYPES, such as audio files, which are common around the web. 1 mb file size is actually royalty compared to other free hosts (for instance, T35 offers "unlimited" webspace and traffic as well, but has a 150 kb file size limit), so I wouldn't complain about that.
