My opinion is that hosts want WAY too much for just letting someone host their website-I mean-how do all these other free guys do it? How is it possible to build a good bussiness if their is someone that basically gives it away?

Free hosts: No motivation to NOT pack servers with as many sites as possible. Little to no revenue coming in to support current, let alone expansion of, operations and servers, including upgrades, hiring support staff, increasing capacity, etc.
Trust me, you have a mission critical site, you don't put it at a free host. They are fine for some things, but it isn't the answer to all of the world's needs.

yeah-I guess there is always the risk of them going down.

Risk or probability?
Seriously, there's nothing to say a paid host won't go down either. If you don't have a solid business plan, then any company could go under. If you don't have solid equipment or network connections, then any server could go down.

Yeah-I guess there is much more risk for free, though, unless they have a lot of $$ like nbci
