I'm nearly fed up...

Hi Guys,

I must say, I'm nearly fed up with this "Free-Web-Host"-thing, because every host I met just wants to play their users or the limitations are completely unacceptable.

There are 3 main types of hosts in the net:
1.) Great storage (up to 999 MB), but only 200 MB bandwidth/month and adds that kill you
2.) Acceptable storage and bandwidth, but limitations like "no traffic from asia", "NO SITES THAT PRODUCE TRAFFIC ANYWAY, BUT ARE GREAT QUALITY SITES" and so on.
3.) Hosts with okay condiditions, but bloody browser upload.

I just want a clean and decent host where I can have about 50 MB of storage, ftp access and no ads. I even would be willing to put a "thank you" for that on my page. But there's no way!

I had an account on netfirms, but now they cut off the maximum file size to 100 kb (even if the error still reports 256kb)!!!!!
Boy, my name is larger than that...

And freecfm is so instable that it hurts.

Any suggestions?

Same Here, I Thought Web1000 was Extremely Cool, but then I had a run-in with their Porn ads and then i found out about their 'no asian traffic'..........

i think ur all loonies who expect too much from free hosts -- if u want it that badly, pay for it -- if u want it even more, get your own server and internet connection and see how long is lasts

what to do...its free.u no need to pay anything ! ..they have to cover back their b/w ! be pantient guyz ..u can get a good host with paid for it !

There is no need to get agro, this site has many many forums, including 4 devoted to webhosting.

If you are so fed up with the limitations of free hosting, then check out paid hosting forum or web hosting offers forum. If you don't like that..stay fed up..it ain't gonna improve anytime soon

You can get what you want for as low as $2 a month. Just check out WHT. There are a lot of *free* web space providers so long as you meet their requirements and accept their TOS.

There won't be a lot of flexibility at all.....There are many free hosts which are like this unless someone can name a free host without strict restrictions. Many free hosts constantly change their service and rules.

Go paid and forget restrictions...(if you can afford it )

How about t35.com? And if pop-up unders bother you (even though they don't always pop-up), paid hosting (t35.net) is only $2/month for 6gigs/month (if u pay yearly).

You act as if freehosts do this to be mean, not merely to stay alive.

I just only "act" like this, because 90 % of the offers are trying to get users under wrong promises, or have hidden traps that make webpages not accessible. It's fair swindle.

I know a lot of sites who had to close (who made great content) because they weren't able to find some adequate webspace anymore or/and the bandwidth costs had killed them if they paid.

Who pays the people for making content? In my opinion commercial traffic should bear the costs of private content.
