Because he was asking the community. Why give him such a snotty answer. Maybe people here have experienced it. Maybe he doesn't want to waste his time on something that isn't even worth it.
Redrival is a rather old host. So they have been around for a GOOD while, back when I started web design a few years back. The features aren't the best but they offer what the average person(not saying the average is bad or anything) would need since you usually don't need php, cgi, or mysql unless you plan on building you site on those.....
Yes, as SplittingFate said, RedRival has been around for a very long time. They are reliable, and their features are OK (nothing special but not bad either). The XSSI scripting is a surprise; I never knew they offered that.![]()

they had ads ? banner or popups ??
I've heard that RedRival uses interstitial ad pages now. They give you a page full of ads before you enter the site.
When RedRival first began in 1998, they were an ad-free FWP, and they were dedicated to staying ad-free, relying on banner clicks on their main pages. However, in February 2001, they, like Crosswinds.net, were dragged kicking and screaming into reality, and they resorted to placing popups on their users' pages. Later, they discovered the "interstitial ad," and they decided to use those instead of popups, and they still use that ad today.

oh,quite old webspace
Just to clarify: We do still employ popups. One third of our inventory is dedicated to our Embedded Media Advertising initiative. These ads are simply in-browser popups that disappear after 15 seconds or when the user clicks the 'X'.
