If it's remote as in another province/country, you might be able to do it via phone line. Dial the phone number of the other computer from your computer and you might be connected. I don't really know what to do because the only thing that I ever did similar to this was using cross-over cables to a computer that in the next room.

It's possible...just not going to be very fast...Probably slower than 56k.

I believe you can use the Telephony system already in Windows 98. Set the other computer to Receive or something like that, and your computer and dial the phone number that the other computer is connected to.

    dony,

You can accomplish that by using Dial Up Networking and starting a dial up server.

There is also a messaging program built into Windows 98 however I can't think of it. It's not installed by default so you'll need your Win 98CD to install that as well as the DUN Server unless you did a custom install.

It's actually pretty handy. However the max speed either modem can negotiate at will be 33.6

    This should make it easy:

<<removed and Mr Knowitall, don't assume everyone is inferior in knowledge to you, the subject in question has been around since you were still pooping in your nappy>>> Lol, I doubt any mod really knows exactly what that is.
