    Wink Domain transfer...

Soon I will have to renew my TLD, glennknows.com, and I am becoming worried about doing so.

I currently registered it from www.registersite.com and want to transfer it to www.powerpipe.com

After registering my domain, I soon realised that registersite.com are a reseller who buys it for $10 and sells it for $20.

My worry is that something may go wrong, or along those lines. Has anyone transfered a domain name before? Was it difficult?

I transferred one a little while back and with the help of Tim, (thewitt) it went very smoothly indeed.

Transfer your domain to a registrar that allows "A Names".

Don't wait until your domain is near expiration to start the transfer process. Some domain transfers can take many weeks - not all, and certainly not even most - but some.

It's a crying shame when someone tells you to wait until the last minute because domain transfers are a piece of cake, and you lose your domain over it...

You can transfer at any time (after the initial 60 days of a registration or 45 days of another transfer) and the new domain year will be added to the end of the current domain's life. You don't lose anything by transferring early, and you give the gaining registrar a chance to resolve any issues that may block the transfer.
