    Gasoline Solution!

    GASOLINE SOLUTION!

We CAN buy gasoline that's not from Middle East. Why didn't George W. think of this? Gas rationing in the 80's worked even though we grumbled about it. It might even be good for us!

The Saudis are boycotting American goods. We should return the favor. An interesting thought is to boycott their GAS. Every time you fill up the car, you can avoid putting more money into the coffers of Saudi Arabia. Just buy from gas companies that don't import their oil from the Saudis.

Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that every time I fill-up the tank, I am sending my money to people who are trying to kill me, my family, and my friends. I thought it might be interesting for you to know which oil companies are the best to buy gas from and which major companies import Middle Eastern oil (for the period 9/1/00 - 8/31/01):

    Shell............................205,742,000 barrels
    Chevron/Texaco.........144,332,000 barrels
    Exxon /M obil................130,082,000 barrels
    Marathon/Speedway...117,740,000 barrels
    Amoco.........................62,231,000 barrels

If you do the math at $30/barrel, these imports amount to over $18 BILLION!
Here are some large companies that do not import Middle Eastern oil:

    Citgo....................0 barrels
    Sunoco............. ..0 barrels
    Conoco............. ..0 barrels
    Sinclair............... 0 barrels
    BP/Phillips.......... 0 barrels
    Hess...................0 barrels

All of this information is available from the Department of Energy and each is required to state where they get their oil and how much they are importing. They report on a monthly basis. Keep this list in your car; share it with friends. Stop paying for terrorism. But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of gas buyers. It's really simple to do!! Now, don't wimp out at this point...keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I'm sending this note to about thirty people. If each of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) ... and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers! If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!! Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people. How much would all that take? If each of us sends this e-mail out to ten more people within one day all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next eight days!

Finally a chain letter that can accomplish something usefull

Your attitude scares me. You've generalized the actions and feelings of a minority and expanded them to an entire region without even stopping to think about it.
If you want to boycot oil then stop driving a car.

Excuse me? I have three jobs. One of which is installing networks. What would you expect me to do? Pile my ladder and equipment on a bus and try to convince the bus driver to take me to all these homes and offices? Many MANY of us need the gas to make a living. Not everyone works in a building and can simply take a bus back and forth to work. Not to mention, I am simply showing the same as people from Middle East. There is growing Anti-American movements. If they dont like me, I dont feel the need to give them my money. There ARE gas companies that dont import from them, so I DO have a choice.

Nobody wants this war....in the end, I agree the war is at least partially about oil. If we dont buy oil from the companies that import from that region, then oil is no longer a reason for the war. Correct?

And import more from Alberta, and make us even richer bastards!

It's so true though...why send your money to people planning to kill you.

But many MANY of us could at least CARPOOL. Besides the whole oil money going to the middle east, we wouldn't be doing the planet in quite so fast. But then, nobody cares about that right now, what with W's war rhetoric and all, right?

I posted that this morning (before going to work) meaning to post that it's an old urban legend. Oil companies sell to each other as well (I think). If for example, Exxon has too much over, they may sell their excess to third party suppliers that is distributed to other gas stations. So buying, for example, from only Citgo wouldnt really do the job. It would have to be more vocal. While Bush is partially fighting to protect our oil interests, he is also pushing for alternate forms of means and fuels to get away from the need to rely on the Middle East.

As for carpooling, yes most could do that. However, that wouldnt make much of a dent in the amount of fuel used since it is the shipping industry that uses more fuel than all personal vehicles combined. Trucks, Planes, Trains, and Ships all use fuel. Then you take into account the service industry. Wanna forget about pizza delivery? How about emergency services and postal services? I have already seen a rise in prices at the grocery store (by only a couple of cents per item at this time) because of fuel costs.

Even if "everyone" carpooled who could do so, the demand for the fuel would still be astronomical. We have other oil, plenty of it. Problem is, there are plenty of greenheart protestors also to block the way for us to get to it. These same greenhearts gripe and moan about gas prices (along with the rest of us) when the prices start rising. The protestors need to give one way or the other. Give up or shutup. The only way to get off the addiction to middle east oil is to drill our own lands.
