    Win2k if you really need to.

    Win2k.

    WinXP will not be happy on there with so little RAM. You would not believe how slow it is on this machine with 256MB PC100.

    Damn I need my machine and Win2k back...

    I run XP just fine with 256mb of PC133 ram. But I don't use the PlaySkool theme either.

    Anyways, I recommend Win2k, but get the service packs and everything.

    Well,

    My lappy did ship with WinXP on it and it ran fine.

    But I can't decide if I start to hunt down the person who borowed my winxp cd or if I use my win2k cd instead.

    Comparing functionability and etc, who wins?

    Depends on what you need. I prefer Win2k, but have XP installed also for all the old programs I download (for the compatability mode). I also found out that Win3.1/95 programs do NOT run on 2k, because I just upgraded a 98 machine to it and now half of the software we have doesn't work :mad;

    I'm upgrading since I want to use some 3D apps like maya and softimage, but they require an NT-based OS.

    I remember maya running fine under 2k, so I guess I'll go with 2k

    Thanks for the help
