PHP - Any help with a messenger script

Hello

I am creating a messenger script, it will be an online thing through a browser right.

What it is im kind of stuck on where to start, i think it would have to be tables first.

I'll explain what it will do in more detail now.

What it is people will sign up for an account and then will be able to find other friends in the messenger database, and they will be able to add them to their buddy list. They will be able to send a message to the buddy and he will get a message displayed saying you have a new message, then he reads and can reply if he likes.


Hope you get me on what im planning.

What i need to know really is what type of tables will i need and what structure they will need as well.
