Users.QuickFox.tk :: MYSQL support added.
Users.QuickFox.tk proudly presents... MYSQL ACCESS! *everyone cheers*
By having our own MYSQL servers, you are no longer required to use
outside mysql servers, which can be very slow. Also we have added
phpMyAdmin for your convinence.
We are pasting part of the new FAQ here involving mysql:
Q: Do you provide mysql access?
A: Yes, when you login, your created with account options, just click
on the link called "Create a MYSQL account", if you have set your
account to automaticly give you the filemanager, just click on "control
panel" in the top bar.
Q: What should I type to create my MYSQL account
A: Whatever you want, however a tip would be not to use the same
password as you use for your webhosting account.
Q: Help I lost my MYSQL Username and/or Password.
A: There is no username/password retreval, you have to create a new
account.
Q: I'm having trouble getting some BBS's working, could you suggest
one?
A: QuickFox.tk recommends you try YABBSE,
http://users.quickfox.tk/files/BBS.rar contains a version of YABBSE
which has been modified to work better with QuickFox servers.
Q: How do I setup the YABBSE you provided me?
A: First create a directory where you want your message board to be
located, then upload everything inside the rar file to that location.
After just simply run "install.php" and everything should be easy to
setup. Please note: if you don't have a mysql account, you can still
create one (scroll up for more information on mysql).
Q: How do I open .RAR files?
A: Use winrar, availible from http://www.rarsoft.com/
[You have receieved this e-mail because you own a website at
http://users.quickfox.tk/~xzss/]

Can you give me the ftp address, then? I didn't get it in the confirmation email they sent me. Thanks.

Actually, they don't offer ftp access. They say they know how do "manually" distribute ftp access, but they have no way of doing it automatically (ie. having it automatically change your password if you change it elsewhere). That is the only downside (but uploading is pretty easy- 100 files at a time).

100 files uploaded at a time does not mean much if we need to pick the files one by one. Is it possible to create a web-based file manager that allow us to pick multiple files at a time? I think that will be much better.

You should probably direct that question to them (users.quickfox.tk). That would be a much better way of handling uploads.
