noone has a clue?
my cd-drive isnt working, it is a different situation sometimes it simply says:
Insert a CD into Drive D:
even though there is a cd in the drive and the computer recognizes it (light flashes) but it gives the error above.
and other times it says
this disk is not formatted or is not compatible with the drive or windows (sorry can't remember exact error)
This is getting very annoying can anyone help

Perhaps an IDE cable is loose. Maybe you should check to see if all connections are connected.

or clean the laser
you can get a laser cleaning cd for about 5$

I once had the same problem. If I remember well, it is because of some program. Do you have Easy Cd Creator (or similar program) installed? I'll have to check again what program it was, but i'm pretty sure it is due to software conflict
it's a notebook, plus tried cd lens cleaner to no avail
