Anyone run vBulletin with a free webhost?

Hey,
I was just wondering if anyone runs a vbulletin forum with a free webhost?

Just wondering if many people still put money into their site through something like vBulletin BUT still use a free host, maybe because its as good as a premium host (in some cases) or maybe if they want to save some money and put it towards something else on their site.

I require verification of a valid license before they upload it. If they can afford $160 for forum software, then they can afford paid hosting.

Yeh i agree, most people who want to host vbb on a free server usually hold hacked/illegal copies.

From a host's perspective, we don't allow it due to the very high possibility it is pirated.

From a users' perspective, I don't want to pay 160 dollars for something that I can get (and much better >> phpBB <<) free.

Sorry for assuming someone that can spend 160 dollars on a forum script can also pay for webhosting.

Sorry for assuming that someone looking for free webhosting might be more likely to pirate a 160 dollar forum script.

I'm so bad with my assumptions...

I have never had anyone use a vBulletin on a free account, and to be honest, I would also ask them for proof that they own a license if they wanted it hosted on a free account, its more likely that it could be a pirate version and its the host's right to ask..

I have seen many PIRATED vB on PAID hosting, and I've also seen PAID VB on FREE host

I use a PAID vB on one of my FREE HOST

why ? I already PAID $160 for vB license because its NOT FREE, so "WHY "PAY" another $??? per month for hosting when I can "GET HOSTING FREE? "

I'm sure none of you all accept " free things" *insert sarcasm*

( wonders why they are on a site requesting FREE webspace(s) )

Sorry to dig up old threads, but I have a log somewhere on Yahoo between myself and someone wanting free hosting to link to warez and host a vB with it.

After searching and searching my HD, I found it, it's rather long though.

I think it is more likely someone that gets a free host is more like to have a pirate version of vB than one on a premium host, I know from my own experience that has been very true.
I ran free hosting accounts for over a year and I had a lot of accounts using illegal versions of vB but I think I have only ever had one on a premium account.

The % of pirate scripts on free accounts was higher than on the premium BUT its still only my personal opinion because it could be different for other hosts.

Just speaking from my own past experience and I think others could say the same
