I don't know about the shape problem, but the scroll looks the same as yours in XP mode, lots of shadows.
I had windows 98 and everything worked fine, but then I just had to install windows XP because i thought it looked cool and now there's a problem with shapes.
Click here to see what I mean
It seems all the curves in shapes are a little off. There might be a problem with the X, Y axises or something. I have no idea whats going on. Its really annoying.
---------------
The shape to the right is my scrolling cursor on Internet Explorer. It's very distorted and it definately wasn't that way with win 98.
---------------
The shape on the left is one of the shapes you can draw in Microsoft Paint. The curved parts are very distorted. I can draw squares ok, but anything curved gets messed up. I even managed to download a new mspaint.exe, but i had the same prob.
In addition, the "this is too big to fit in the window, would you like to resize" thing doesn't pop up. It just resizes automaticaly without aksing. I tried running the program in Windows 98 compatability mode, and it started asking me if I wanted to resize again, which is good, but the curves were still messed up.
Is there any patch or something to fix this? The CD won't let me reinstall XP and im not gonna format my harddrive or buy a new comp.
thanx

Try tweaking your monitor.
So you mean the shapes seem ok to you and my monitor has a problem? I don't get why this would happen after upgrading to XP.
Does that mean both sets of shapes and scrolling cursors look the same to all your others?
I used Paintshop pro to draw the same kind of shape and it turned out fine. I wanna use paint though because its simpler to work with.
thanks

I got no problems with WinXP Pro using 1024x768 resolution
What screen resolution are you guys using? Is XP upgraded (www.windowsupdate.com)? Is your video card driver upgraded?
Enable ClearType fonts:
- Open Display in Control Panel.
- On the Appearance tab, click Effects.
- In the Effects dialog box, select the Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts check box.
- Click ClearType in the list.
Middle click and it'll show up.Originally posted by trenzterra

I'm using Firefox, maybe Mozilla doesn't have it?
And why does anyone need to "get" IE? Whoever uses Windows will have IE...
