can u trust webalizer from cpanel ?
i just saw this stat:

Hits per Hour------------97--------1204
Hits per Day------------2343------ 3767
Files per Day-----------1310 ------2086
Pages per Day----------391--------780
Visits per Day------------58---------91
KBytes per Day----------15947------32661
hits per days looks very much too me cause the site is quite new lol

i think webalizer counts every single file in your site that gets served in a hit. this includes images, so if you have 100 images in a page, in will count as 100 per hit. though i'm not really sure, that's just my observation in my own site.

are pages and hits same ?

Just pay attention to the "uniques" column.

a page is a .html / .php page, what you see.
a hit is an image .jpg / .gif etc, flash, and normal downloadable files, any file

The most important ones ot keep track of in Webalizer are Pages and Visits.
