    Frosty Host Closing

    I got an email today, saddens me to hear it, but it looks like Frostyhost and all it's affiliated services will be shutting down. Here is the email: (i am assuming he meant November, not october)

    This server will be closing as of October 1, 2004.


    Some of you recieving thids notice have a different provider other than
    Frostyhost and need to contact your provider.


    FreeWHM customers, Frostyhost clients and customers, and WhereToLook
    customers will be affected by this change.


    In approxomately 2 weeks Frostyhost and its satellite services will be
    terminated. This includes FreeWM and WhereToLook.


    All customers and clients of these services must find a new provider
    before this time to avoid downtime. To avoid any loss of data please
    backup your entire site including the databases as soon as possible. The
    server is paid for until the end of the month so all data will be
    available until that time.


    It is not certain if the service will resume in the future. I know this
    is a complete surprise to all of you as I have not tols anyone of these
    plans. The reasons are many but mainly they are:

    ** The loss in income is staggering. The service has not been in a
    profit status for about 3 months and I am unwilling to run it as-is.

    ** have started a new job that requires a great deal of my time. In all
    fairness I cannot run this business successfully and with the qualty
    you have expected.

    ** The server has been under increasing successful attack by malicious
    hackers and I cannot devote the time to prevent these continual
    intrusions. I have also had to pay extra for specialists since even my
    provider refuses to admit there is a problem. I cannot afford these extra
    costs any more.

    ** I will NOT sell Frostyhost or the satellite services since I hope
    that once my new position settiles down I WILL have the time to revive
    them with the level of quality and service expected and needed from a
    quality webhost.



    Please accept my sincere apologies for such short notice! I was hoping
    to extend the service through this transistion phase for me. But I have
    not had the time to even get online and assist my volunteers with the
    upkeep.

    best to answr every email received.

    Hello, just wanted to let everyone know that the Frostyhost.com Server is Back Up.... If you need to do backups, do them NOW! I believe the server will be closing on Nov. 1

    I can't login to my account. Had I received this same notice from them, I would have backed up my data a long long time ago.

    I am the Steve Gorkes that sent out that email, I am sorry, but all the data is gone, the server went down as stated, on November 1st.....

    There is one exception, and that is if I took care of your account (you would know if I did) then I was so nice, I backupped all of my clients sites and databases.....

    However, if you were taken care of by John, all your data is gone.... I'm sorry....

    You should have recieved a notice from Frostyhost, John send out that email above that was posted by Matt8 to everyone on the server(Frostyhost, Wheretolook, and FreeWhm)..... If you didn't recieve it, I'm very sorry, and I don't know why.....
