    Internet Explorer My hosting Guide

    Reseller acounts

How scary?: Not even slightly. Reselling is simple.
How Risky?: Not very, provided you're reselling products from a reputable firm
How Techie?: Even absolute beginners will be able to get to grips with reselling
How expensive?: Around £50 per month for unlimited domains, but add-ons can be pricey
Best for?: New businesses and firms who do more thatn just selling web space.

    Dedicated Serverws- AT A Glance

How scary?: If you choose a managed server, you don't need to do much tinkering yourself.
How risky?: Not very, unless you mess around with things you don't understand
How techie?: More control that standard reseller packages, but that means more for you to do
How expensive?: Dedicated servers start at around £29 per month, rising to £99 for more powerfull servers
Best for? Technical users and firms who have losts of demanding customers

    CO-LOCATION-at a glance

How scary? Pretty scary. When it comes to your servers, you're on your own
How risky?: You're in charge - wich means nobody else will fix your mistakes
How techie?: Fairly technical. Don#t think about if your not confident with server technology
How expensive?: from £39 to £600 per month depending on bandwidth (plus hardware and software)
best for? Established hosting firms or big buisnesses

How can a ded server be cheaper than a reseller?

And wherever you are buying your resller account you are paying way too much! 50 pound is like 120 australian dollars, i can get 10 reseller accounts for that.

I'm sure some newbies will find it helpful though, perhaps provide some links... like links to resellers, managed ded serv and colo sites???

Colocation is REALLY cheap...that is if you get really bad colocation

Colocation places aren't always that scary...for example Coloquest has a 24/7 800 number, and I've used it before to reboot some boxes. However, if you get the aforementioned doom of a colocation service, expect a bit of a challenge

Yeah, but with the high prices you're also paying for service. If you get Tier-1 bandwidth, you should get top-notch support (and policies) as well.

A little horror story out of CIHost (policy), we found four other machines plugged into our rack's power supply that weren't ours...and we told them either remove em or we'll take and use them as if they were our own.

Well, CIHost has a bad reputation of looking for customers that don't have full cabinets and sticking random colo customers on your power supply, and sometimes overloading them. Not exactly good for us

Ya your prices are a little off. You can get reseller accounts a lot cheapper then that and unless its a VPS then it isn;t that cheap unless its like a P2 or something, and even then.
