    Question Solaris

    Hi,
I hope / think you guys are knowing something about the OS "Solaris"
can anyone tell me, wheter it's usefull, how simple it is etc. ?
    actually i've winxp ( MS sucks !!!! ) and SuSE Linux 9.0
So i don't really need another one, but i like to try some new things out.

Primary i wanna go online of course. But Office-things are of course also useful.
    OO or something like that.

Solaris is for SunSystems, and IMO, not what you are looking for. I would liike at SuSe, Mandrake, Redhat or even *gasp* Lindows

I prefer Mepis, personally, because it just works with everything and saves me the trouble of all the downloading and configuring and looking for available rocks with which to smash the thing that Mandrake and Fedora Core 3 involved for me.

As far as Sun, I guess you're talking about the new OpenSolaris? Can't say I know much about it other than that it was only recently made open source, and that I've got a general impression of Solaris being much more aimed at servers than desktops.
