Expensive??
I asked for someone to design me a website( i dont want one really, i can make my own website, im just weighing up prices) Heres the reply i got - and these guys are only 17 years old!!

At AWD we do not believe in templates and set designs and all websites are built from scratch. Depending on the complexity of your site a rough estimate of what you requested has been priced below:
Online Shop: The online shopping trolley system, developed by Apex incorporates latest web database technologies, including MySql and PHP scripts for extreme functionality.
SSL: Secure Socket allows credit card transactions to be safe from hackers and puts your customers minds at rest.
Media Content: 12 pages containing a maximum of 15 images per page.
Animation: Flash animations and gif banners often attract customers to special offers and points of interest.
A site contain these features will be priced around £350. May I stress though that all our sites are tailor made so this price can only be used as a rough guide.

Yeah, I wouldn't go with them. Their sites don't look very good/professional at all. If you're gonna spend £350, go buy DreamWeaver and make your own site.

I've never heard of DreaWeaver. But I believe some people pay for DreamWeaver. I didn't, but I didn't get it warez either.

Well I tried the Demo and I liked it because it was a lot easier to make tables for me, I sucked at it so badly. And tables is almost essential for good webdesign. Now I use it to design the layout or template of the site, and then I use Good Ol' Notepad to edit it.Originally posted by satelk

php isnt a design markup code, its a programing language... php can embed standard html (tables, frames, etc...) but it does nothign to make up for them.
php is used to make more complex and dynamic pages, cal databases in and much more...
