Free Anti-Hacking Software or Service

Is there any company that offers FREE anti-hacking services or products for personal use? I need them. I don't want to have my PC got "zombie"

Sure! I use Sygate Personal Firewall. http://soho.sygate.com/products/shield_ov.htm

Someone on this board said it was good, so I use it.

Zone Alarm is another, however watch using these firewalls if you have a router that acts as a firewall as well. Screws everything up, and the router should do ya'.

I don't trust any commercial software firewalls.
Personally I think hardware firewalls are best.
Or setup your own BSd firewall box.

Seldimis is searching for something along the lines of a firewall, not peer to peer software .

...I think you missed what he was saying...

Anyways, no need to go that route, Sygate has all the features of commercial firewalls, but it's free (for personal use).

Yes, that I did.
But going that route would more than likely involve software priacy.

what is the use of a firewall. all personal pc's are fairly safe. just get a virus scanner, and a trojan scanner. and don't be dumb, and open attachments in your emails, no matter who it's from.

Yeah right.
If that were true do you actually thing companies would spend millions of dollars creating such products?
Anyone sitting on an insecure Windows box is vulnerable to attacks, wether they have a virus scan or not.

Hardware firewalls are good but they only stop stuff from getting in. They won't stop a trojan or spyware from calling out. If you have a hardware firewall you should also get a software firewall.

Free ones include www.zonealarm.com (best firewall for newbies) and www.kerio.com for more advanced users.

Best bet is to set up a FreeBSD router or something along those lines, behind some other form of hardware firewall.
