Hi
I need to provide a customized page based on user preference. What should I use to provide the content? Most imp thing here is speed. The customized page should load as fast as possible and possibly this is the page where the user will land. Lets say there are 20 items out of which the user has chosen 8. Should I use flash or javascript or perl? Also I do not want the users to log in as this would waste one pageload. Maybe I can use cookies or provide a url per user (mysite.com/user ) where the user chosen content is shown. As some of you are experts in this field, it will be nice to hear from you. Thanks. As far as I know there is nothing faster than plain HTML.
The choice of JavaScript or Perl typically doesn't affect the download speed typically, the connection speed tends to be the critical factor. Cookie is unreliable, frequently it is disabled, I would opt for tracking the users IP. Sharone White www.grabafreebie.com freebie EBook for grab |

I'd go with PHP and MYSQL. I think I saw an article on how to get Flash to interface with PHP and MYSQL.
